Run in collaboration with Ocean Mimic, our aim is to pick up any rubbish we find and recycle as much as we possibly can.
The event will be running from 10am till 2pm, however feel free to drop in at any point and stay as long as you want. We will also need help afterwards to separate the rubbish into what can be recycled and what can't.
Biodegradable rubbish bags and thin gloves will be provided, however I would advise bringing your own thicker gloves if you have them, along with plenty of water and snacks.
Also, please remember small change for the ferry across to the beach, which is £1.60 each way :)

I've been coordinating and hosting beach clean ups twice a month for one and a half year in Quintana Roo, Mexico. About a month ago I traveled to the island of Cozumel, where I found marine debris that traveled with ocean currents and landed in this beautiful island. As I recorded and took photographs, I knew I had to go back and host a beach clean up to celebrate World Ocean's Day with the local community. The amount of plastics and micro plastics is overwhelming, so I know that one beach clean up won't be enough. I will use this day to inform and educate about the importance of changing our daily habits. About how connected we all are in this Planet and the urgency of stop using plastic.
