First sea concert as tribute to World Oceans Day

Within the framework of the World Oceans Day celebration, the "Admiral Padilla" Naval Academy joins and makes this date a great event, to sensitize, raise awareness and educate population in general about the importance of our maritime territory. In this order of ideas we will carry out different activities such as lectures of thought, talks, children's workshops, underwater cleanings and cultural samples. The national flag of Colombia symbolizes Colombian independence from Spain, gained on July 20, 1810. It is a horizontal tricolor of yellow, blue and red. The blue stripe represents the seas on Colombia's shores and the rivers that run through. This year, the theme for our World Oceans Day celebration is "Let's protect the blue of our flag", our purpose is to generate maritime culture in Colombian people and contribute to the recognition of our oceans as a resource of sustainable use for the socio-economic development of the Nation.
